The magical ale hoof or Ground Ivy

Nepeta Glechoma ground Ivy
A cure all
From years long before
Grows in large patches
With kidney shaped leaves
Bright violet flowers
Don’t ignore

Prolific abundance
Square stems like Mint
Aromatic it has a fine oil
Low growing
Bee’s love it
Sharing grass areas
In salads with herb salts
It provides to the soil

A magical meaningful
A divination
It’s leaves on the base
Of a candle of yellow
And burned on a Tuesday
On an evening that’s mellow
To discover
Whose working bad magic against you
An edible
In soups and salads
Was used long ago for those
Suffering tinnitus that’s what I have read
And still to this day
It grows

Here there and everywhere
