Dear Mr Gummer

What you did at Pitstone
Was a wondrously healthy thing
And I would ask you look at Bellman
Where
Castle wants to re engage the JCB’s and workings
And from our lovely hills that want to tear

Huge great scars in what we all call country
Devastate the place and create dust
already they consider burning tyres and carpets
And saying when we moan that we are unjust

But looking after children in this district
Seeing green sites does excite them so
They can take in Nature and be happy
Not stand on the street corners well you know

As a family man you know the problems
Inhalers our kids use them, is it fair
Breathing in gods given, and it’s awful
Chalk dust, cemfuel blowing everywhere

The Ribble Valley does deserve much better
Living here , Oh No their out of touch
Put a bleeding quarry in their backyard
The squeals would reach the moon I say
Please be their protector MR Gummer
Tell the castle people go away.

Historic pledge to Selwyn Gummer after we won the Pitstone case
Against Castle cement years ago. I was then asked by the citizens of the Ribble Valley to try to help them thwart Castle again there where they were actually burning cHem fuel from the chimneys and girls in tHe local high school were become
Sick with it all.
