Ashridge

A wallowing wandering tree
Before me
Clusters of branches
Spread adoringly
Basking in winter light
The be
The test of time dramatically
A windless day
A leaning trunk
Splayed and remarkable
It’s great roots sunk
Deep in the loam
Mossy and green
With an aching grey sky
To complete the scene
