Eid-al- Adha

Widespread animal slaughter
Sharing it three ways
Family relatives friends and then poor
Done on certain days
Every family can eat meat
Dead flesh which they believe
Is nutritionally necessary
And why they achieve

To me an animal protestor
Animal rights is key
Murdering the innocent
Doesn’t sit well with me
Whatever other religions do
Still I need to say
No one has the right to kill
Animals any day

Watching animals murdered
In cold blood seems to be
Frighteningly obvious
It should not be lawfully
For religious purposes
A doctrine of this sort
Done across the free world
Is worthy of some thought

I can’t abide these massacres
And brutality
Of chopping down bold oxen
In the street
It feels to me
Wrong and simply I feel more at ease
With leave them alone

Life is truthfully precious
Something that they own

Respect and love them

Surely a better doctrine
