OKAPI

the Okapi wild and  beautiful

Magical I’d say

30000 left it does appear

upon this day

a wild reserve in DRC

the Congo holds so much

Silver Backs and Okapi

so many out of touch

with reality thats natural

where mining is their thing

carving up the natural world

for their little piece of bling

gold miners the consortiums

rough necks

not much between

their ears alas

destruction

the attitude is mean

the vibrancy and tears

the cries of sawn down ancient timbers

the fungal web of  life

grove after grove

the treasure trove

treated to such strife

the enigmatic angel forms

roaming as they do

harming no one

living life

its puzzling but true

silent beings

tendering

their peace for those who dare

to see God’s plan  and live by it

Mindfully  aware.
