I am rather broken
and do look my age
Having withstood the winds
Who came at me with rage
But Viburnam and Jasmine
They do
Bolster me
And help me regain
The spirit to be
Earnest and willing
To Strengthen my grip
As they dance all around me
I am able to sip
Nectar and richness
Remnants of how
When I was much younger
Than I am now
Parts of the jasmine wood
Now strengthens me
It’s twisted and tousled
And acts as a key
To holding my lattice
Together a while
Longer
to help me
Just to reconcile
A beautiful morning
In April it be
The bluest of skies
And a light breeze
So free
A wood pigeon a magpie
Relax on the Beech
It’s Lacey branches
Are just out of reach
There’s a Rosemary spreading
With branch tops of green
With the subtlest lilac flowers
I’ve ever seen
A study of flourishing joy in a way
At the tops of what are the aroma display
At my feet a wild panoply
Rich golden clocks
Dandelion blossoms
Chickweed tick tock’s
Nettles and docks plantain and grass
All healing wildness
Seen through the glass
Of my study in lockdown
Fascinated by light
Longfellow mentioned the plantain
In sight
of his eyes
One can know
One can feel
One can care
To be well and to sit
In the sun so aware
Beautiful!
You are indeed beautiful Carly and very much appreciated x
