“Cuko”

We received a report
By a fast flowing stream
A dog there injured
And so it did seem
We needed to fetch him
In the cold snow
Shivering wildly
As the wind did blow

Someone had shot him
With buckshot galore
Such scorn and disdain
He had been in a war
Clearly in agony
Clearly unwell
Shivering uncomfortably
We could hear tell

We got there and fetched
Him
Back to our place
Clearly was relieved
To be in our space
Seen by the doctor
Deciding to try
And operate soon
Which is clearly why

Needs must lots of care
Lots of love
It is here
Our little friend “cuko”
