Elderly and in need of an ANGEL

Scumbags in uniform
They are the ones
Security personnel
Yea there are tons
All over the world
Exercising their power
Proving to many
hour upon hour

They actually folks
Disrespect is out there
So many fall victim
And live in despair
Take this old veteran
A street dog of old
Blind in both eyes
But as good as gold

Living on the streets
Imagine that task
Noise traffic all sorts
So much to ask
Of a blind dog
Yet this dog was out there
Giving her all
And getting by
Well as a rule

Then one of those hitler types
Chased her away
He could see she could not
But she would pay
Down by the lakeside
A thorny hole
She was trapped there for two days
Poor little soul

An aching heart
Everywhere black
Noises at night
All of that flack
Nothing to drink
Nothing to eat
She could just hear her heart beating
Trying to cheat

Herself being frantic
Unknowingly she
Would yelp in her sleep
Would cry and would be
Lost to the world
Nobody to care
All these thorny roots
It just wasn’t fair

Old many years
Many tears many fears
And now she resigned
To die it appears
A lost soul completely
With no where to go
With no one to love her
It really does throw

One into a world
That is cruel and that’s mean
Wandering around
As she has been
People throw stones at her
A bottle as well
Chase her and strike her
And make her life Hell

And so she was lying there
Shaking away
All the irreverence
Coming her way
So much disfavour
What had she done
Bawled out for nothing
Out in the hot sun

Then there was this angel
A young man and he
Had crawled into her hole
And yes he could see
Her so withdrawn so forlorn
And he knew
She was blind as a bat
Yes that much was true

Frightened and timid
The shabby world was
Just falling down on her
Which was because
She was blind
She was old
No one loved
Old souls they
Shout at them
Throw things
Frighten them away

Waist deep in water
The angel exclaimed
He lifted
Her up
And then he blamed
All of those people
Whose caring was gone
Realising confusion
Had now stretched upon

A pooch in a hole
and the need was that he
Would rescue this soul
From the Bowels and would see
So dehydrated
So full of fear
Shaking and shivering
When he did appear

Back at the hospital
Trauma akin
Gave her some fluids
She was so thin
Put her on love row
Where every one must
Cuddle and kiss her
And pat her well just

Replace the fright
And the hate and the pain
Console her enrol her
Into love again
Give her a sanctuary
For ever more
Bless her for her goodness
Less was for sure
Something to be said for
Her rights that must be
All that is owing
And that is key

To her transformation
As house dog who will
Be here forever
Her rights are still
We all will be friends of hers
And we can say
We are grateful she found us
She’s our blessing today
