Ivory

The unscrupulous opportunism
In Zimbabwe today
Because therecwas a dry spell
The artfulness to pay
Little respect to the Elephants
And deviously try
To poison what was left around
Of the limited water supply

It calls for a lot of shamefulness
And a shabby point of view
Some big dollops of vilainy
And disloyalty to do
The dirty on the pachyderms
Who are needful so to say
And by putting aside their rifle
Is an iniquitous display

No noise all done quite quietly
Poison in the hole
4 lovely elephants Suffer
All have lost control
The poachers really wickedly
Hacked their ivory away
A complete abomination
On any given day

Clearly they lack pity
Unfeeling all the way
Ruthless they lack compassion
Wrongdoers who must pay
Their malevolence is awful
Their viciousness is too
Callous and blood thirsty
Exasperation true

To see those handsome creauures
Stretched out and forlorn
Clearly died in agony
Caused by a violent spawn
These poachers their hostility
And animosity
Their evil eye of malice
Beyond how it should be

Butchering their corpses
the ivory away
The blatancy the flagrancy
An affront to all who pay
Respects to all the elphants
Its a total evil act
Craven hearted laggards
Whose own bones should be cracked

Made to feel the agony
As on their journey they
Are going to make their fortune
In a country far away
And these are probably Africans
Born and bred who be
Able to kill an elephant
And sell its ivory

The poison though is evil
It will not only kill
The elephant but the vulture
And the jackal yes it will
And any other visitor
Who should amble near to where
The water hole is lying
That audacity to share

Harare in Zimbabwe
Cyanide they use
Their ugliness second to none
Such terrible abuse
No regret whatsoever
Their loathsomeness we see
Sending elephant angels
Into their purgatory
