Some guy with a detector
Putting it around
Found the hoard of Roman coins
In East Devon he
Realised it was treasure trove
And slept by it to be

Protecting it from robbers
He realised its worth
22000 roman coins
Just left in the earth
Stashed away and forgotten
Till he 4 years ago
With his metal detector
Realised the show

It could be worth a hundred grand
And a museum might buy
No wonder he slept by them
Now we all know why
Its amazing what lies in the soil
Still yes to be found
And he was very lucky
To have found that piece of ground
