Corporations and habitat loss

The jungle and the forests
Around the world are seeing
Major deforestation
And its down to the human being
Whose life has become disordered
Up against great GAIA she
Is suffering from the vagaries
Of the corporate who see

A future by creating
Destruction everywhere
Palm oil fracking gas and oil
Construction and despair
For many of the world’s wild animals
Whose habitat is lost
Everywhere you look these days
The planets single cost

Is causing such disharmony
Its chaos everywhere
Take Laos for example
CHina thinks its fair
To buy up vast stretches of land
Of jungle everywhere
And tear it down and in its place
Put casino’s of despair
Giant hotel complexes
Glass and concrete takes
The place of the wild jungles
And hearts of ours it breaks

Animals lose their lives
To JCB’s and huge great cranes
You cannot replace rhe magic of a forest
All the gains
Of centuries of medicinal plants
And so many secrets there
And all the wild creatures
Again that once did share

Elephants and tapirs, cats and reptiles who
Have lived inside these forests for ages
And they do
Provide for all the animals
That live and work and play
And once we have taken the trees all down
There is nothing more to say

100 sq kilometres of forest lost and gone
The infra structure must be built
The countryside will suffer once shone
With every light circe imaginable
And now what do we see
And unenviabke congestion
And a rotten testimony
