“WHIO” they made the bank notes

Fearlessness is theirs to own
Intrepidity they would hone
In white water from on high
Swirling glacial water why?

These blue ducks whole families do
Take on the unnerving waters blue
That crash on down the mountainside
Where even babies do not hide

Their resoluteness they really can
Paddling their great symphony
Tracking back to rocks that can
Be torn away where no man

Would dare to be these ducks will go
Now on the ten dollar note you know
They won their place the maori “whio”
Their appetite for gallantry
Is basically keeping them in the flow
