Thoughts of a tethered owl in a Japanese retail store

Walking on two legs
With two soft downy wings to fly
Into what is freedom
The vastness of the sky
At once with a philosophy
A consciousness
A need
Unlike the Japanese retailer
Who just wants to feed

His profit margin with slavery
With torture and with pain
The empty headed ignorant
Who tortures so as to gain
A foothold in the emotion
Of his many birds of prey
Whose constant cerebration
Is to really fly away

To have a leg to stand on
And leave one leg behind
Tethered to the perch
So the retailer could find
A knee jerk, reaction
To the evil sophistry
Persuaded just to go for it
Do it implicitly

The agony aforethought
The blood loss one could be
How far can a baby fly
Its an absurdity
There was no expectation
The probability
Was who ever bought the owl
Would take it home for tea

Between a rock and a hard place
Not the ideal place to be
