Tigers on farms

The biggest wild cat in the world
And it’s the tiger
Who was hurled
out of his magical kingdom to
Live his incarnation through
Big and heavy and lives on his own
With a camouflage thats his alone
Can run at 65 miles per hour
And can swim too and just loves a shower

A century ago we know
100,000 were alive
Now 3000 or so in the wild
Trying to survive
Locked In cages
Or left to run
In enclosures when the day is done
A Treeless existence
A hell on earth
With nothing for them
Of any worth

This is man unkind today
And let us thank the E I A
For the good work that they do
Really trying to get through
To governments and officialdom
Through webs of vile intrigue
Criminality and vast corruption
Out of the obvious league

CHina has a place in all of this
That much we know
It stimulates and perpetuates
The trade and it does grow
Skins as rugs and bones as wine
Meat to eat as well
Teeth and claws and paws
Seemingly a hell

On Earth for our wild creatures
Who have their role to play
They make their mark with Nature
Who creates them everyday
They have their instinctive knowledge
Unlike mankind who
Gets brainwashed by the system
To do what he does do

Take hunters for example
Psychopaths with guns
Farmers seldom charmers
Their arrogance just stuns
Those of us who realise
The measure and the worth
Of those who Live off subsidies
For polluting the earth

In Xiongsen Tiger and Bear Mountain
That is in Guilin
There they farm the Tigers
A place of actual sin
1200 tigers In Enclosures
Struggling to be
Half as fit as their counterparts
Living wild and free

Many more in cages
Going off their head
Pounding back and forth and back
Their eyes look glazed and dead
They really are in such a state
Of lethargy and woe
And outside loads of government cars
All part of the show

And monkeys little capuchins
Who look the worse for wear
Waiting to be slaughtered
And end up yea somewhere
Probably some elixir
To give old men a way
Brown bears for bile
And Chinese style
And Bone wine so they say

All this with our tiger boys
And realise that here
They are selling in their gift shop
Tiger wine it is clear
That Tiger farming is lucrative
Whatever China writes
Look at the government officials here
It’s all within our sights

132 US. Dollars for a bottle of Tiger Wine
That’s rice liquor and tiger bones
6 years old the line
Is clearly drawn the gift shop is selling
TIger wine
And farming tigers in their cages
Isn’t that divine!

China has banned tiger bone in pills
It’s not allowed
But bones in wine and elixirs
Just look at the crowd
Waiting to buy a bottle
That is what they do
Including government officials
Who also buy it too

So what chance has the poor old Tiger
Against poachers and of course
Having tigers farmed like this
Really it does force
The hand of would be millionaires
Who pay the poacher men
To catch the wild and rarer beasts
Lying in their den

The hunters too those canned hunters
They are after trying
To bag themselves a tiger for the wall
As so many are dying
They pay their ill mis gotten fortunes
To the ethically unsound
Who lay on a quick kill for them
No stalking it’s all around

And so our precious tiger
The light giver the hope
Is being cut to ribbons
By those who need to cope
Who would sell their wives for sixpence
And their grandmothers too
So what chance has the tiger
The last chance is the zoo

The restaurant in that tiger farm
Was selling Tiger Steak
Just thinking ahead and wondering
How my heart would break
If I had to work there
As many Chinese do
