LION day london 30/04/2016

The energy is building
Folks from here and there
Are getting posters and their costumes ready
And proving how much they care
Prides of Lions will congregate
In London’S Cavendish Square
To march all the way to Downing Street
To see if Cameron’s there

And, upon arrival,still
The air the London traffic
And roar for Lions who may
Hear us out in AFRICA
All those miles away

Telling those with ears to listen
Lions are KINGS they are
Not TARGETS for rich hunters
Who travel from afar

Who in fact pay a bounty
To traitors to the cause
Who consume wild life like crazy
And now there is no pause

With extinction in the offing
And blood soaking the ground
We come now as an army
Never to be drowned

Out the sounds of people
Who know the reasons why
lions and all the creatures
Need a place to lie

Safely in the wild fields
Not kept in cages till
Mr hunter comes along
Pays and gets to kill

Really anyone of us
Depending on his purse
The biggest noblest male of all
its the rich mans curse

Spreading across Africa
Bodies everywhere
Our bones go off to Thailand
And our heads yes we are aware

On the way to your town
To be fixed up on your wall
Better another dead lion
The trophy hunters call

There to gather up the dust
And to be looked at by those who
Think dead lions are better
Than living where we do
