Captivity has been at a price
Too high to contemplate
The deaths of 4 young trainers
And injuries to date
Numbering so many
The Orca came to be
Clearly many steps too far
pathologically
Our pursuit of power and profit
Took us on the trail
We crossed over into greatness
Into sublimity to fail
Miserably along the way
We were totally unfair
We had eyes but we closed them
Happy with their despair
We enjoyed our own lives
Whilst preventing them their goals
They received no compensation
Only weights and tolls
They were mighty so much mightier
Than ever we were but they
Were made to be our entertainment slaves
Along their way
We drew from them negativity
They slaughtered us and they
Broke us into pieces and we lied
Yes all the way
We buried the true facts of what they had done
To us, and they
Made us an example
And for that we had to pay
Protestors rose in quantity
Share prices they did fall
Bums on seats got fewer
We lost one and all
Victims we created
Many and now we
Are stopping the breeding of Orca’s
So said Sea World recently
But we shall hold our captives
Sea pens will not transcend
Out little concrete bath tubs
They are not to end
Until each orca leaves this planet
Then and only then
Will we stop and reflect on what
We shall do in the end
The amalgamation with HSUS they
Also have had their problems
Along the way
Whether this is a good move
Only time will tell
Apparently its been welcomed
Creating heaven from their hell
How quickly we forget the truth
How sad for kingdom come
For all the orca victims
And the dolphins are we so numb
To all the deaths and injuries
To the in house misery
To the ugly chapter in our lives
Of cetacean slavery
