Abandoned

Places we abandon
We just ran away
And left whatever we did there
To create the new decay

Where life appears to continue
The animal earthlings they
Move in and take up residence
As soon as we go away
Despite all our affection
And sentient nature, they
Cant wait to see the back of us
For then they move in and say

Good riddance to the human tribes
Destroyers of the air
The water and the land on which they grow
Food, unaware
Of the poisons they created
And applied them everywhere
Not only were not sustainable
But brought down on us despair

Their inordinate power of ignorance
For our destiny which they
With arrogance and for profit
They basically threw away
How much hatred in their hearts
And aversion in their soul
And malice and resentment
In their wish to just control

To put their stamp on all our lives
Its unwelcome and its true
We cannot wait to watch you leave
For then may be the crew
The mammals and the birds
Can ascertain and try to be
Living in our bubble
And believing we are free

In Chernobyl where radiation
Is scattered all about
We know there is something badly wrong
We do suffer the doubt
But we just get on with living
In the wilderness of will
In utter desolation
And yes we feel that chill

As we forage many undisturbed
By the vagaries of man
There is nothing kind about you
We really were no fan
We put up with your evil
Your empty houses now
Evidence of your ugliness
And why we are, no cash cow

It will never be a sanctuary
In human terms but we
Are living for however long
In our own harmony
And that for us is something
Living without fear
Of being shot shot and murdered
By your low life that came here

Then at Kolmanskop Namibia
You made your diamond mines
You threatened every living soul
And couldn’t see the signs
The sky went black
Their air was sick
The water courses too
Everywhere around this place
Was doomed because of you

We horses can forgive you
But we did not run away
We felt the ruination
But to do this would display
A very uncaring attitude
For Mother nature who
Had so designed this area
And so however few

Months we have together here
Its worth so much to us
We are free to make our own decisions
Anyway we discuss
Our futures and we live our lives
Free of your human stress
And that freedom it means everything
And our nerves we can redress

In Bangkok the NEW world shopping mall
great ponds we have there
16,000 feet of it
Which all of us can share
The mosquito’s they took over
But the likes of us
The Koi and yes the Catfish
There is nothing to discuss our joy

We fill our rampant bellies
With the larvae of the many
The multitude how they exude
Really there isn’t any
Reason to miss humans
Who caught us when they could
And ate us line and sinker
And of course that wasn’t good
So now we have some freedom
We have the sunlight too
It permeates our being
And we all enjoy the view

In Jumanji thats in Finland
An old derelict place
The house in the woods we call it
Its where we made our base
A dozen species coexist
In harmony and its plain
It works there is no human fear
Which drove us all insane

Pripyat the place of Chernobyl
I come back to it we
Knew the radiation would be here
For eternity
20’000 years or more
An extended world of strife
But in honesty a few months
Of humans not here strife

Is worth the dangerous goings on
Us wolves and rodents we
Living and dying together
In a place of harmony
Shot to death and skinned alive
And trapped for all we were worth
To you it was for our skins and fur
You plundered Planet Earth

Its no mans land and good as well
For all you did was spoil
Dump your shit around the place
It made our blood boil
The water once so sweet and clean
Was filthy just like you
The leaves once green
Turned black as night
For that is what you do

In no mans land
In South Korea, on the borders we
The White necked Cranes the Amur Rats
The Black bears we could be
The Amur Leopard and the musk Deer
We found our fortune here
No hunters with their vile interpretations
Do appear

So side by side we manage
The balance has remained
We all are friends together
That must we have gained
The squabbling and fighting
The evil that we saw
Has gone from our lives actually
We have peace we have no war

Despite the loads of Land mines
After your Falklands war
Us penguins enjoy freedom
Like we never did before
We see that some explosions happen
But we sense now where they be
And how to go about life
Though its tense still we are free

We have the independence
Of knowing its down to how
We attempt to get through this
As we live in the now
20’000 mines ago
We lived here and we played
Love is what we all possess
That is our stock in trade

In New York the mass transit cars
The red birds we are here
Again we are a unit
Of peace and never fear
The lead shot of existence
That once you fired and we
Exploded in your rotten sport
So called our destiny

On Okuno Shina Island
Us Rabbits thrive and play
Bunnies come and bunnies go
Every single day
The streets are filled with all of us
Our fur is ours to keep
Angora might be your desire
But we live our lives and reap

What ever you have abandoned
Left to us to be
Re balancing the areas
Of forest and of sea
The indigenous lands
The holy trails
The pristine lakes of old
That you never looked after
Whilst mining for your gold

We are taking over
We are making good
We are living our pure lives
We may be misunderstood
We may live only a short time
But in perfect harmony
We all are earthlings actually
Which we shall always be

Maybe we are communists
Maybe we are just
Living loving creatures
Free of sin and lust
For other peoples lands and rivers
For other peoples soul
Your greed we buried long ago
When we took over the role

Of keepers of this planet
Of all the sweetest air
Of all the cool fresh water
That now is everywhere
Of course there is predation
But the slaughterhouses they
Have all gone by the wayside
When you lot went away

How I Was able to write this poem
Was having read a post on “the beginning”
About men and women all being earthlings on the planet
And the animals taking over those places we abandon

This page is shared between Claudia my dearest friend
And I, we admin this page please go and like it
And let us all take this poem to drive us all to
Maintaining the equilibrium that is so badly needed
On Planet Earth NOw

Thank you
