Shesh’s little giraffe baby

Existence absoluteness
At last I am here and I
Am my mothers protege
Which is truly why
I am a happy baby
Part of the natural scene
Created to be beautiful
In what is the big green

I have my own genuineness
My authenticity
I look just like my mother
And I am hard to see
Our camouflage is amazing
Our assimilation too
I am very photogenic
Like she is good and true

Giraffes they have their greatness
They soar into the sky
The longest neck that has ever been
Which is clearly why
Those sun drenched branches decked
With leaves
Really are our domain
Sweet and crunchy and very punchy
After a drop of rain

At the moment I am quite small
A rareness you might say
Just a gleam of solid light
Who came along to say
Hello dearest Africa
I am here to stay
Up to now I don’t have a name
So perhaps they will call me RAY

Ray of health giving genuine light
To the whole foot print around
All those juicy leaves to come
But not ones off the ground
The highest trees the canopy
Up there the leaves are sweet
Where there is always continuity
Far far from our feet
