Your mother was never a cow

Why don’t you feel guilty?
Why now don’t you care
I was born just yesterday
Aren’t you lot aware
Because you want my milk
I was taken away
My mother is crying
her heart out today

She carried me for 9 months
Did it Frantically
And when I was born
That selfish farmer
Yes then I was torn

Thrown in a pen on the same day
On the fourth thrown into a truck
Look in my eyes for goodness sake
You don’t give a fuck!

The men they are wearing cowboy hats
They manhandle us and kick
Prod us with electric rods
That pain makes us feel sick

Of course you want your yoghurt
Of course you need your cream
You just love your custard
So it now does seem

My mum laments
She weeps and wails
What they do is
Pull our tails

Kick and punch us
So much woe
Our mothers loved us
Which you don’t know

Humans are vile
Humans are sick
Humans kill babies
We get so much stick

The dairies are wicked
Heartless and vile
It’s all about profit
Nothing about style

Odious and loathsome
Sullen and sad
Misbegotten and ghastly
And thoroughly bad

You are bizarre
No better than trolls
Craven and spiritless
You are lost souls

Passionless uninvolved
Revolting fools
Gorged on our milk
You break all the rules

We are now sliding
Down the slaughter chute
And will face the terror
For us the end route

The bloody dairies
They don’t care a damn
The supermarkets
They can’t wait to cram

All sorts of bottles
All sorts of pots
Mousses and creme fresh
And you just scoff lots

We are superfluous
Waste for the bin
And the sounds of the slaughterhouse
We cannot begin

To hope we can escape
Just run away
Try to find our mothers
Live another day
