Harvey Nicols Knightsbridge

Harvey Nichols another store
On Knightsbridge has it’s vast array
Of cruelty beyond the realms
Making innocent animals pay
Stolen pets from China
Wild feral dogs all who
Would prefer their created life
Than what some big stores do

Wield their vile controlling knives
And anal pokers they
Call for trapping and wire cage sapping
Evil come what may
Employing the low life trappers
With their ugly steel jaw traps
Many go mad
Many more are sad
Treated to innumerable slaps

Anyone with compassion
That stores can become this low
Can overlook the cruelty
For the profits that just flow
Can stop their ears from the terror shrieks
Can turn their heads and say
In their boardrooms think of margins
And forget those far away

Forget the awful methods
Families torn to shreds
Cubs and kittens dying
In their wild straw beds
Hopeful that their mothers
Were coming back to feed
But the trapper slapped his
Vile contraption
And the mother she does bleed

Out now crying terribly
For her family who will die
She goes to the summer land beside herself
With teardrops in each eye
Wild animals most thrust in cages
Left out in cold climes
So their fur grows thicker
Yes such sordid times

It’s all about the profit
Not a prophet anywhere
The vile and sordid management
Of the balance sheet despair
And so we talk of protest
Our Saturdays are spent
Giving it some welly
Trying to make a dent

In the sales figures of Harvey Nichols
Trying to dissuade
The would be new investors
To pass by their parade
There was a time when ethics
Took them and they did
Give up fur for many years
But a new buyer did bid

For returning to the evil ways
Of cruelty and fear
To improve the annual mark up
Was the target for that year
And now they keep on doing it
Caring not at all
They just want to make money
So we erect our stall

Outside their front door weekly
And tell the passers by
This store is not what it appears
There’s a big tear in the eye
Of every fur bearing animal
That comes in contact for they
Are tortured and slaughtered sadly
So that the store can have its way

The voiceless have no say at all
So we become their voice
We ask the various passers by
We tell them there’s a choice
So many stores have ditched the fur
So many saw the light
But Harvey Nichols is not one of them
Which we don’t think is right

Thanks Susan yes this board running this store have gone back to their old ways of cruelty for the sake of profit but we will be snapping at their heels until they see the light of day when ever that is x

To all the supporters and protestors who willingly give up their Saturday afternoon to fight this cause you are true soul warriors you face poor weather and the stress of it all but you do it because you know it is right and the animals need this support it is humbling to stand by your sides
