Freddie

From India his light appeared

and a tribute to him, for he

had the kind of voice

that dreams were made of

and we see

such melodies confronting us

surrounding us, their sound

Sebastian Bede he does succeed

in making our hearts pound

close-ups and echoes follow

as memories to flow

glimpses of  our past romance

winging too and fro

expectantly we wait

his dulcet tones

reach to our heart

then fade into oblivion

as it begins to start

a sadness that so great a voice

is no longer here

strutting its stuff

sharing his puff

his silence now is dear

a blood shot eye

its hard to lie

the music turns us on

to higher things

it kind of brings

a sadness as we don

Love a fleeting moment

if only we had been

closer to our hero

his sadness could have seen

his darkness could have lightened

his hopelessness we saw

he came and  brought his message

and almost reached our door

his silk suits showed us everything

he stole our eyes and we

were savaged by his soul urge

he sits in our memory

a bubbling  effervescent

who wants to live at all

who wants to live forever

can we, answer his call?

his melodies will live with us

his silhouette we see

his death touched us

whoever we were

he was no mystery

an artist first and foremost

a voice that took its toll

it came from the  nether regions

straight out of his soul

every single sinew

took on the crotchets sway

rose, each score was clearly

part of every day#

his energy seemed tireless

he headed such a cast

Queen took on  our hearts and minds

and did it with a BLAST

the limelight never phased him

his shadow took him too

a place where people listened

and felt all he did do

soaring to oblivion

reaching to the sky

sucking in the atmosphere

feeling every sigh

born to always love you

he was born to be

heading up a great band

into eternity

totally unconventional

AN ORIGINAL LETS SAY

who soared to sights unimaginable

that was Freddies way

the audiences were mesmerized

his stature was supreme

he was the light in lime light

in fact he had always been

white his favourite colour

with Brian on guitar

rising to the very top

in real life such a star

reality was never really

there for him to share

his world was the experience

a moot point but a rare

flair he had for capturing

the hearts and minds of all

his eyes

deep profound gentle eyes

and how  our tears did fall

when we heard his eyes had closed

his sunken form was gone

the lime light would feel the same

for in us he lives on
