The activists anthem

How easy it is just to take it
And waste
And eat all you grow
And to be so debased
Where you just do not care
You just keep buying stuff
Cos it’s there
Watch it die
Watch it rot
There’s enough

You don’t want to replenish
Just take it and steal
How easy it is
To pretend life is real
Watch Fukashima
Completely destroy
The Pacific Ocean
Where is the joy

Of just being simple
Of just raising some corn
Just being happy because
You were born
Loving each other
Caring a lot
Sharing the planet
With those who have not

Growing back splendours
Letting tHem be
Watching the animals
Just roaming free
This wondrous planet it could be yours
Not mine all the time
Let’s hear the applause

No more extinctions
Ban fracking now
Farewell to shortages
Love life and how
Open the future
Share all the good
Stop being selfish
You know that we could

Reverse all the evil
Reverse all the bad
Stop being greedy
Help those who are sad
Grow more organic
Let’s save the whales
Let’s love the dolphins
Let’s hear those tales

Of good over evil
Of sharing the good
Replanting the forest
We know we should
Stop planting palm oil
Put back the clocks
Save all the elephants
We have enough socks

To work off and be there
For our children who
Will take on this planet
That was saved by you
Give them a future
Not a sick place
Give them pure water
Not a disgrace

Give them the animals
Joyfully there
Not full of agony
And dying
Compare
The planet of old with the planet of new
Give back and share it
With children like you

Show them their parents
were activists they
Worked at preserving
not throwing away
Let’s be remembered
for fighting like hell
And saving this planet
And doing it well
