Namibian Seal Slaughter

I can feel the present frustration
year after year we all see
nursing pups slaughtered
out on the sands
Namibia’s at it and we
realise it is a sanctuary too
with tourists who pay
to see Seals
but they do not know
that earlier that day
they slaughter them there
it reveals

a sickness a terrible problem
Nambibia want to be seen
as a place where the seals
can all flourish
but also to kill them
so mean
they are having their cake
and their eating it
and the world looks upon them as good
knowing their killing and selling the pelts
and we feel we’re misunderstood

the gangs go in early and slaughter
the jcb’s follow and hide
all of the evidence all of the blood
yes they take us for a ride
the tourists then pay them to see
little seals with their mothers
enjoying the day
and as soon as they’ve gone
they start up the con
and blow these sweet babies away

Namibia has to be seen as a crook
cruel they are cruel I can say
selling these pelts to the Egyptian man
who lives in Sydney so they say
its nowt about fish its just money
a lucrative market thats all
it pays to bash some of them over the head
and drive people like us up the wall

Namibia she gets the okay
and tourists flood in every year
if they got a black mark for what they are doing
then they would change that is clear
and thats where we ought to be aiming our vote
that is the way we can sink their boat
signing petitions and answering posts
is causing frustration and too many ghosts

The EEC has banned the seal products so
get Oz and New Zealand and others to show
their strength by so doing ban seal skins worldwide
slaughter their market banish the pride
of working with seal skin prohibit its use
then we can curtail all this vile abuse
I feel the frustration I hate it too
but really dear friends this is what we must do
