Lets the children shoot to kill and all that

In the US its my understanding
that gun laws generally
allow for long guns at 18 years
and 21 years and we
or some would like to see that
dropped for hunting purposes and they will
allow much younger children
to kill animals a chill
echoes through my marrow
what a sick idea
what a daf’t proposal
for me its very clear
a child is just not capable
of realising why
its father or its mother
wants the wilder souls to die
what goes on in hunters heads
I, cannot explain
how could some poor little child
and what now could they gain
from slaughtering a little deer
or a rabbit or a boar
“all things bright and beautiful”
what did we sing that for
to shoot them down in cold blood
to see our arrows fly
to watch a baby choke upon its own blood
tell me why
anyone in their right mind
would license children to
go out in the forest and kill
for me its true
the hunters might be wanting this
they want to kill all day
anything that comes along
bang bang your dead okay
they get their highs and
sexual pleasures seeing blood and gore
but children little children
bloody hell what for?
