Out of the mouth’s of babes

why is it that any young child
anywhere
if given the chance to be more aware
would have no inhibitions and say
that she would
prefer not to eat meat
that’s if she could

often the parents might not understand
they are very set in their ways
and they’ve planned
exactly the make up
of what dishes they
need to feed the family
on any, given day

the parent may smile
or break into a laugh
they may feel that the nutrients
well not a half
of them are in the food
that the child wants to eat
and the whole new scenario
tends to unseat

out of the mouth’s of babes
comes the desire
for lots of green vegetables
a somewhat higher
vision lets say
than the burial ground
for lots of dead animals
which is unsound

an innocent child
she’s unfettered and pure
lost in the clouds of the summer
demure
to it all
she is hopeful that her family might
refrain from the blood and the bones
through the night

tears quite an avalanche
may fool fast
its true in the heavens
a dye has been cast
the little girls vegan
she knows what to do
and not leave behind
the smelliest loo

as the colon gets blocked
as a denture is cracked
and the feet tend to split
which, will not attract
the ladies pertaining to blood
on the heel
is just not conducive to eating a meal
