Elephant held hostage by villagers

Habitat loss is what its all about
bull dozing forests
for the corporate crowd
palm oils included in so many
foods
“Raja” an elephant now chained
exudes
anger, frustration
and pain well of course
to chain her to the ground
is really to force
this very young elephant to be kept
in this way
causing immense loss of freedom
and is just no way
these elephants come
because we’ve taken down
trees
their environment is now our town
what we are doing to them is a sin
it goes on and on
they just cannot win
the great corporations their profits intact
their margins are bolstered
buy the palm oil, in fact
its in every product
stocked everywhere
and is building their margin
and causing despair

the elephant and the orangutan
are being killed off
they are now on the rung
of a ladder that’s broken
and seemingly, they
will come into conflict with us more
each day
and what is the outcome
terror and dread
all of them at this rate
will be dead
despite the good work
from a few it would seem
the great corporations
have their own dream
