Australian Pork

A cacophony from Hell
wreaks terror through
this heart of mine
crated sows vile chorus
in darkness down the line
that humanity allows this
constant biting of the bars
for that is all that they can do
and we all must bear their scars

lousy lamentations
curdle the blood in here
day in day out
whats it about
mass and abject fear
man creates this hell on earth
which Australia must see
what its farmers do to
Pigs in New South Wales
its purgatory

and where is man
whilst all of this is
going on
lets ask and see
some of them
are close to going mad
its seems to me
frothing at the mouth
the sheer frustration
of it all
the tedium is obvious
even to a fool

those of us who turn away
who close our ears and eyes
are guilty of the crime too
for we can realise
that corporate intervention
in what constitutes a way
of giving pigs a quality of life
now every day
instead of dark dire deprivation
driving pigs insane
to demean themselves through dementia
for their squealing is in vain
nobody who hears it
will ever want to know
what they can do to ease it
and so it just does grow

the cacophony rips into
the soul of all who hear
those that have a heart
who didn’t lose it out of fear
and clearly there must be some
fear about the place to let
animals cry out like this
and fail to try and get

some light into that hell hole
some food into that place
some help to give those pigs a chance
someone should be on their case
to stop their urgent pleading
to hear it anyway
for humanity will suffer
for such terror, it must pay

consumers of this flesh and blood
will realise the pain
the terror and the evil
what was to be the gain
from such a morbid existence
the adrenaline must be
running through their bodies
that frustrated agony
must taint the flesh forever
and pass on to those who
consume it the negativity
inside the lot of you
