Sentient Elephants have emotion and are not afraid to show us that

Man finds it hard to come
to terms with animals
and how so many have in born respect
how they learn to love
as individuals, to my mind
its that some seem circumspect

perhaps its not the thing
to say
that animals can think
that they do possess passion
and they know
but actually its obvious
in many way just watch them
just observe them
for a month or so

you’ll know
how they meet and greet
their friends each day
its obvious to anyone who sees
and not impossible for animals
and humans to bond in time
let us together seize

this opportunity
to understand them more
how they tick
its much the same as us
they will walk for miles to
pay their last respects
really why is that hard to discuss

his loving heart
a parallel they condsidered
most sincere

if that is not another
massive reason
to not gun elephants down
as we do see
forget their tusks they need them
more than we do
besides why hanker after ivory

murdering such sensitive individuals
is proving that the human being sees
but cannot understand the world around him
and only thinks that he alone can please
himself in what he does, and all are victims
this is not a strategy of man
its horrific to go through life
with such horrid thought
let’s leave all creatures to complete their span
