I walk along
a lonely shore
wondering
what I came here for
a bottle floating
on the tide
perhaps a message
lodged inside
or a tiny crab
left by the sea
to bake alas
if not for me
I pick him up
and gently put
him in the sea
at least a foot
allowing him
to run back to
his friends
out swimming
in the blue
or was it
contemplation
I
was wondering
if my love came by
would I tell her
how I felt
on the sand would
I have knelt
or possibly
with my fingers spelt
the words
how I loved her
