A baby cows lament for its mother

That’s right
I’m a baby
but what do you care?
as long as you steal milk
from me
unaware

that I am then
separated from my
mama
and killed
that’s my lot
in this world
whilst you are

feeding yourselves
on bovine rich cream
with its, added chemicals
now it would seem
to damage your health
which is true this we know
but there’s profit for superstores
now in the flow

Calves are shot dead or thrown
on the floor
sometimes its veal crates
for evermore
that means 5 months
but it feels like an age
chained by the neck
yes another sad page

in the great horror story
of Dairy, and we
are the victims, alas
that’s how it must be
I miss my mother
I miss her smell
I miss her warm milk
I loved that and well

I know my place
I’m a calf I must die
so you lot can put my milk
in your fish pie
