There they are
the victims
animal earthlings, who
were born with hair and fur
to keep them warm
and what do we do
manhandle them like crazy
no pity in how its done
hang them up and wrench the fur away
and never stun
them no not on your nellie
its torture all the way
dreadful awful terrible nasty
torture and they pay
with a slow death in heaps
of bodies suppurating, so
with clouds of flies all over them
what a way to go!
Cats and dogs and rabbits
raccoons and more besides
anything that crawls gets hit
and nobody confides
to consumers they are lied to
best you know its sold
as faux fur when its animal fur
and worth its weight in gold
to the animal it was torn from
to the animal who was born
to the animal who bled to death
to the animal thats go’rn
maybe to its happy, hunting ground
away from man
who is riddled with the evil
and of them I am no fan
the torture is extraordinary
it is gruesome to be sure
we are talking about cats and dogs
picked off the streets, the gore
they face together pushed in cages
often in the heat
with nothing provided for them to drink
its the height of crass conceit
they have profound feelings
they hurt just like you
imagine tearing a piece of skin
off your finger and what you do
is these sad souls are lifted
and hung up on a hook
and the skin is torn off inch by inch
you wouldn’t want to look
at the tears that pour from out of them
at this ghastly sick ordeal
but they hang their trying desperatly
to survive how they must feel
how they must feel let down by man
so women then can be
dressed up in the remnants of their bodies
actually
what’s wrong with us how can we be so brutal?
what’s wrong with us how can we be so sick?
letting others terrorise sweet babies
no anaesthetics the bastards
play the trick
they do not even put them out of their misery
they throw them on a heap to bleed out, they
are the worst kind of human that’s imaginable
though there’s karma for the wearer anyway
these bits of actresses being photographed
clad in this skin
all those poor dead animals not of their kith or kin
and the workers in the tanneries who are dying by the score
dealing with the chemicals fu** them we say their poor!
as long as we can sidle off wiggling like a cock
and being gawped at by the papparazzo who will lock
their bloody lenses onto us and show the world how we
are as nasty as the nastiest of people that can be
I was tagged by Claudia Ferri and after watching this short film was inspired to write this poem for the animal earthlings dying in their millions every year
