Mole souls and their pretty poppy gardens

In subterranean cities
the stylophorum are
with coats of soft dark velvet
but they don’t see very far
their hearing really isn’t
all that its cracked up to be
but their front legs
cor, they’re massive
and they’re like a JCB

Moles, are not so tasty
their diet seems to be
really only earthworms
so that’s not strange, actually
they tunnel here, and tunnel there
creating hills of green
tis said they can move mountains
a bit like a machine

in the operation
turning soil like mad
keeping it all friable
really isn’t bad
poppy seeds lie dormant
for years, I understand
then suddenly wake their sleepy heads
and decorate the land
its because the soil
is moved about
which encourages the seed
to spring to life
imagine that
so its the Moles, good deed
perhaps they do not know it
and it seems that most of us
really didn’t have a clue
but now we can discuss
just what a truly great lot
the moles are on the earth
their food is all organic
and they really are of worth
