Bengal Tigers in the Sundabans(beautiful forest)

in dense networks
of Mangroves they
swim with Bull Sharks
so some say
and Crocodiles
they have little fear
for salty water it is clear
makes them aggressive
and thus man
is up against it
Yes it began
a while back
after Cyclones struck
destroying swamp land
thats when luck
would have it
populations were
brought closer
to the Tigers purr

Fishermen and honey hunters
in their wooden boats
have found
Tigers attacking from behind
and rapidly they’re drowned
years before some cyclone victims
washed away, were eaten by
the Tigers scavenging on the corpses
and enjoying the taste
which might be why

50 or 60 souls are taken
every year around these parts
habitat loss is causing conflict
and a lot of broken hearts
it is a really beautiful forest
densely populated by
ungulates and of course some humans
in consequence some of them die
Habitat loss is a major factor
logging out activity
cyclone Sidr did grave damage
as a consequence adversity
revenge killings, of the Tigers
by the people who realise
their livestock brings the tiger closer
it really comes as no surprise
now the government helps with losses
by helping the villagers to donate
livestock for these precious tigers
and this has cut the killing rate.

some 3000 or so be
living wild in eastern climates
roaming quietly far and free
man’s advancement though is telling
obviously the tiger clan
are feeling pressure from the closeness
and danger from the might of man
