A plea from a Rhinoceros

I’m prehistoric looking
a dinosaur of sorts
and I was born
with a massive horn
no hair also no warts
my eyes are pretty awful
but my sense of smell is good
my horn is made of keratin
and the Chinese think it could
be really good for urges
of the sexual kind
and it should
work old men, to a frenzy
and also blow their mind
in China and now Vietnam
its no better than chewing your
finger nails
but its us who come to harm
for mercenaries come to Africa
with chain saws and what’s more
attack us and our babies
leaving so much blood and gore
they hack our horns off horribly
and cart them off somewhere
slice them up and make a tea
pots of pure despair
for we can’t live without our horns
blood loss it soon kills
this is a plea to TCM
its useless in your pills
finger nails and toe nails
are all made of the same
constituent material
That’s keratin by name
it has no healing properties
its all a myth sadly
and that is why you must believe
an old Rhino like me
I haven’t got an axe to grind
but if I had, then you
would find I’d use it on your back
when I chopped you in two
extinction now seems on the cards
and leaves us all to say
if you don’t stop this carnage soon
then you will have to pay
