Anthropomorphism a word made up by people without feelings

We’re good at making
up long words, to describe
what most fail to attain
respect for the farm animals
that know about the joy of pain
they huddle close and live
short lives
imprisoned in
their concrete cell
industrialised facilities
we share, our share of Hell.

we fail we do fail
miserably
to understand how they
feel
each is a character
with emotions
but we pay
so little
true attention
to what and how
they feel
and tragically some take out
their frustrations too
for real
tail docking
and teeth clipping
they remove
their testicles by
hand, no anaesthetics
just a tug
they hear no cry
its there
but they can’t hear it
they give pain
but can’t take it
no respect whatever
and if its there
they fake it

Animals have wisdom
animals feel pain
so what is it
that human beings
think that they can gain
by treating them so badly
by feeding them so dire
by giving them the chemicals
and branding them with fire

animals stay docile
sensitive and calm
but inside they are
frightened
they fear they will come to
harm
and many of course suffer
we torture them each day
we lead them to the
slaughterhouse
and we murder them
in a way
the animals are sentient
profoundly so, I’d say
for they remain so stable
despite the price they pay

we’re good at making up long words
and a few short one’s too
to cull is just to murder
but it sounds so soft, we do
pay for this dilution
for what we sadly do
lead them to the Abattoir
borrowed from France
a clue
a place of Death
of slaughter
where butchers cut and thrust
where blood soaked walls
and haunting calls
are heard and the disgust
of innocence
where precious lives
are truly shortened by
others who willprofit
and on that basis you die

That is sentient behaviour?
No, its monstrous stuff
that’s jetsum from the gutter
and I have had enough
animals have feelings
animals evoke
feelings, so lets treat them well
Let’s be better folk
