Hertfordshire’s roadside flowers

Roadside meanderings
Michaelmas Daisies
flashes of yellow
Buttercup’s praises
such boundless energy
multitudes teeming
great seas of blossom
swathes of flowers streaming
up banks and down banks
central reservations
flashes of colour
and precipitations
snow like
an avalanche
sweeping beyond
the eyes of the wizard
who feels that his wand
expresses his wishes
his hopes, and desires
a great confirmation
of floral surprise
a message that displays
a wildness of soul
sown there by angels
with full on control
Hertfordshire’s roadsides
have so much appeal
thrusting and vibrant
and so very real
