The unrelentless Nullarbor
Great backdrop to the sky
Not even the old Kangaroo
Can now be seen to fly
Its bare earth and its shrubland
Bare witness to the way
Its is waterless and arid
And even the sky does little
than to paste a curtain grey
With intermittent streaks of blue
all along the way
Rawlinna boats a Post office
Where tresspassers are warned
“Keep out you would be laggards”
And where would they be spawned
A crazy mass of wilderness
Where Kangaroo’s no more
Skirt the plain or the rich refrain
A fact not to ignore
