D24 Kampong Durians

My friend Mr Lui drove to a kampong
to buy me some Durians
that must belong
to the few fruits from Heaven
both luscious and sweet
and so aromatic
and so gorgeous to eat
He came back on his scooter
a sack in his hand
and waving his cleaver
helped me understand
the wondrous
wild Durians
flavour intense
Really when eating them
I lose all sense
of time drifting back
to a time long ago
Manna of the Gods
This fruit you all know

after my sitting
a little salt water
drunk out of the durian
I new I oughta
Not eat that day
not take alcohol
for otherwise
I might have lost all control
