Means killing the animal first
But those that eat them seldom kill them
For that work appears to be cursed
Clinically that’s what we’re doing
Its all bloody chopped up so we
Can forget that it ever was, a real living creature
It becomes a commodityWe can distance ourselves from its feelings
We forget it was out in the field
Loving its life till along came the knife
And then it was all about yield
To us its like bread or potato
Just a slice or a lump we can cook
Smother in ketchup or barbecue sauce
Not some sweet soul hung off a hook
Its blood pouring forth as its life force
departs
We don’t seek to hark back on that
Its ready we don’t have to think for a minute
We might cut off some of the fatBut if just one time we could think for a moment
Why we felt we needed meat
Do we have bloody great canines like wolves
No when our teeth are complete
We don’t have those bloody great canines att all
just crushing and biting ones they
Are perfectly adequate for roots and leaves
