The Brothers 5

Waking up late
we looked out of our cave
Thick snow had fallen,
Lone was the brave
One, he leapt down the hill
towards the stream
Through the Birch forest
to try and redeeem
Himself,
I am older
my eyes not that great
The nearness to these birches
running at a rate
Is not exactly easy,
however I let Lone
Run,
and followed closely,
his agility well known

We played at sharing shadows
dancing in the Winter sun
The light that filtered
through the trees
Like it had always done
Giving them a silvery hue
Of young shoots by the river
Laced in morning dew

Out into the open ground
The snow had blown down thick
Nothing seemed had come that way
No prints there could we pick
Not a mouse even a rat
The snow was clean and bare
So we made sure we jumped up and down
To prove we had been there
On out across the frozen lake
Sliding this way, that
Christmas is a coming
And the shooters maybe at
Bow hunters and rifles
The 4 by 4’s close by
The mighty midget penis boys
Could be there, then we’d die
Down there in the frozen snow
the cubs, the pack asleep
Wondering where the hell we were
Our lives cut short so cheap

Just down the valley
a herd of Deer
to take one down
and then appear
at the cave
with really so much to eat
dragged all that way
How they did greet
Us,which was good
We could all be
as we should

It really did turn nasty too
The snow fell overnight
There really was no place to go
Bright though it was night
Nothing stirred outside the cave
Melt water was on tap
And that fresh Buck filled
all of us
We had all entered the lap
Of luxury that Christmas
But we did hear shooting, we
Were safe and sound
For we’d gone to ground
Where all young wolves
should be
