Urmia 9

Urmia lake, born out of the ancients
a wondrous place for human eyes to see
there once were rivers. feeding mountain water
till hellish dams stopped this vitality
and now we witness salt and great dry areas
the lake is dying fish are dying, they
the state defying those of us now crying
Our hearts and minds are broken more each day
salty fissures, glimpse the lake receeding
all the life force ebbing in a blink
Iran appears quite blasie whilst the tragedy continues
and half the world can see the coming link
the people on its banks ofcourse they worry
the environment is changing every day
soon the great catastrophe will happen
whilst the government just looks the other way
people all around the world must offer
thoughts thoughts of encouragement to those
Who see the beauty strangled by the changes
Who feel the heart torn from them which now grows
This marvel of great naturalness and wonder
This living lake thats drying more and more
Possibly with beating sun and very little rain
The lake will become a desert, and whatsmore
as such the life will have left what had been given
by the hand of God to the people long ago
and instead of its great mineral wealth and waters
Will be huge erosion as the winds do blow
Salt will be transported every which way
To fall on agricultural land and we
will see the power that salt provides
it spoils new growth and so devides
Nations, harvests positivity.
