Max just ate a spider

Max just ate a spider
A massive hairy spider
Pawed at it then ate it
And enjoyed it, I could see
He licked his lips, My goodness!
My cat’s now eating insects
It shows just how diversified
Their diets have to be
Clearly wild organic food
Is their natural choice
Not all this man made
Canned food the pets just
have no voice
Their given what we buy them
We buy them what we see
Derivatives and fillers
produced unnaturally

But there is a need for wild food
and clearly that is why
Insect protein now and then
and rats and mice must die
the odd bird too may end up
devoured by my pet cat
who supplements his diet
and that I’m afraid is that
