The Serbian wolves whose wilderness is in jeopardy from the wickedness of man

Mountainous Serbia
Land of the Balkans
where the wild wolves
hunt and run with the flow
up against hunters
and a battle of wits
with their guns and
their wickedness
ready to blow

some of the wild wolves
into oblivion
this baseness character
hunters appear
to have in their hearts
an unscrupulousness
follows
which the wolves must negate
though clearly the fear

rides roughshod over the
feelings both shoulder
inevitably some parents
are killed
that leaves the pups
who are clearly
lost souls
to deal with the tricksters
the Serbian trolls

whose deviousness surfaces
and it controls
these babies in waiting
with unsteady roles
they were receiving
great knowledge each day
which the death of their parents
has taken away

all that foundation
and perception too finds
it cannot continue it muddies the lines
tossed into cages
so lost they will be
a pre ordained reason
for complete atrophy

they become much weaker
and unable to run
stretch their legs and be gone
which is what they have done
the hunters are shameless
betraying their heart
imprisoned insidiously
from the start

when they are released
back into the wild
they are certainly weaker
though clearly more riled
a nervousness overcomes
what was desire
it is absolute terror
that works their entire

system it permeates
and it creates
great trepidation
and one of the states
wolves in this scenario
suffering so
will be worn down fast
its a hell of a blow

they will frantically
shiver
and choke back their tears
for inside of them really
are innumerable fears
Take Dejan an animal angel
who tries
to pick up the pieces when
an animal dies

within his sanctuary
6 wolves now reside
and 160 dogs too
he’s applied
his knowledge
and heartfelt solutions
to those
victims of hunters
and the problem still grows

to take on a wild wolf
whose lost to the world
in what was a vast sad embrace
to be hurled
through this great cosmic gate
to a peaceful repose
in a forest of sorts
where everything grows

its a great shift of minds
that tells us they he
can take on and satisfy
the synergy
erupts with a fortitude
unknown before
but with love and attention
one can achieve more

so these little wolves
are very fortunaTe to
be adopted by Dejan
“to add or to do”
that strangely tells
us how he got his name
it was based on his worth
and his eternal flame

how fortunate some are
to walk on his path
when others alas
face the misery wrath
of the evil and callous
whose chicanery
with a wild species
means they cannot be

themselves never ever
lost in a vacuum
a great emanation
appeared from the womb
to be knocked down in size
and then trampled upon
till all the fighting spirit
is more or less gone

this is the struggle
that Dejan takes on
we can tell from his voice
he was put here upon
this earth and the reason
to save those who need
a hand up in life
to help them succeed

the Harmony Fund
takes him under their wing
together they hope
to fly
and to bring
some expertise up to
the forefront and show
this ugly mind set
may itself have to go
