Chickens

Tortuous terror

2and a half

kilos perhaps

30 days on God’s Earth

genetics wraps

around these sad birds

heavy as Hell

a short existence

she sits where she fell

egregious outlook

a  chicken she be

honed by the farmers

a vile industry

heart breaking infants

great legs so weak

genetic evils

now at their peak

of aging  so rapidly

torture and pain

arthritic and suffering

Life  just in vain

a corpse on a shelf

injured they fall

broken a token

they are to the wall

carnage and horror

disparate they

suffer in a silence

of constant decay

chicken in sandwiches

chicken in soup

chicken in barbecues

group after group

suffering bedlam

suffering pain

crippled by humans

again and again

“darling” one called

joey Carbstrong  the man

who entered and saw her

and became a fan

poor beautiful creative chickens

all that’s left is huge sheds of feathers

and excrement 🐓
