Dogs become family
And ought to be treated
With care and affection
With love and with care
So many breeds
With so many needs
Pedigrees mongrels
Each quality feeds
With being looked after
Short hair and long hair
Big dogs and small dogs
And toy dogs as well
All need to be loved
An American Bulldog
With a dog called Zara
Living in Bucknall
Near Stoke
And we hear
A thirteen year old dog
Being kept in a bathroom
Stuck there five days
With no food nor water
Her owner was said to be
Tossing food through the window
There was no sign of it
Seemed like a lie
The police came apparently
For another reason
And spotted the poor dogs emaciated state
Took the dog to a vet
And apparently she was
Not to keep pets for five years or more
A bitch of a women
Which she seemed to ignore
And again came a reason
The police came to visit
Another animal starving and weak
Living in squalor no food nor water
Once more arrested
A community order and costs
And what’s more
Clearly this women
Unthinking uncaring
Her self indulgence
Self seeking was she
She had no regard for animals needs
She was awfully cruel
And desperately lazy
Opportunistic and terribly vain
Animals don’t get a look in
At her place
Truthfully this women
Is a purposeful stain
On humanity
