The beloved wolves

Who ever it was
who removed the wild wolves
from the endangered species
was daf’t
someone may have had an axe to grind
but relevance, need
all that graft
of re introducing
and building
and keeping an eye on it all
was dashed by the wayside
for in came the hunters
do what you like boys
new rule

snares, traps and aerial
hunters
all kind of rifles
they use
these are wild animals
who live where their born
who we honestly shouldn’t abuse
the trust of the given
creation
it wasn’t the state that made wolves
they were of course made
as were hunters and statesman
and all of those miracles laid

are now being slaughtered with fury
no jury
around
they can do
what they like
any tyke
can come in and shoot them
and of course
what does accrue

is carnage
and the hatred of hunters
over kill, yes, yes, we see
grisly photo’s of wolves
being tortured or hacked into bits
nastily

this is the low life who say they hate wolves
tossed into rivers they be
and thrown over rocks
hung upside down
their heads battered in
on some tree

so many wolves have been murdered
shot down in cold blood
which means
if this keeps grow ing
it seems to be showing
its as if they’re no more
than machines

its all about cattle
which is total prattle
killings the name of the game
and its worth a shout
what they’re putting out
its beginning
to really inflame

those lovers of wild life
those animal lovers
on face book and twitter
who care
there are wars of words
more tweets than the birds
and a whole lot of honest despair
