The pain of the chase
One hell of a race
The cry of the hounds
There just were no grounds
For giving me hell
For casting a spell
The vilest embrace
For what is a disgrace
My heart pounding so
A gut wrenching blow
My legs tight and splaying
My whole body saying
You need to lay quietly
Somewhere remote
Hide for a while
Somewhere worthy of note
Head down and eyes closed
A cavernous stop
Let the debacle
Run riot, just flop
Down in the coolness
A soft downy vale
Away from the melee
Away from the trail
But sadly impossibly
The violent men
Hunters of evil
They don’t know when
To give up their chase
To let us wild deer
Live in the forest
Where favour and fear
Accompany doubt
The splurge of the rough
The ugliness surfaces
We’ve had enough
Chased by the rabid
Their teeth closer to
Their rotten saliva
And breath it’s true
Where can I run to
The river maybe
Into its depths
I will never feel free
A crash of the water cold on my back
The hounds are upon me
Their vilest attack
Fangs sunk and bloody
Agony reigns
Wildness is awful
The ugliest chains
Of tragic ambition
Of violence abroad
They are gulping great lumps of me
I can’t. afford.
Goodbye dear life
Farewell spirit, I
Am being eaten
My question is why
A shot rings out loudly
The hunters are here
The heartless the scum bags
Of course they appear
