Tonight an azure sky
The sun has a smile on its face
I would say
The coppery leaves glisten
The cherry pea green coloured leaves drooping
Some kind of dirge
The day has been blustery
north winds were blowing
Sea spray crashed on breakwaters
Hats sailed away
Lillies skirt upwards
Finding it difficult
Suffering badly
They more than just sway
It’s the second of August
This morning was colder
I put on a jumper to sit and compose
The festival day of loafmas
Is with us
Newly gathered grain
And sough dough bread tasty
Only cabbage whites wrestle with lavender
Alongside the bumbles
Clearly in tune
The brambles are bursting with floral splendour
And fruit too the ripe berries
Are coming soon.
