An Irish Mother

Ancestress she, if the truth be told
A rebel heart with a gift of gold
Tranquility inventiveness
An Angel soul of course to bless
She stood her ground
And all around
Shared her vigour
Diminutive but really strong
It was Ireland where she did belong
