Sinead

She was like a Butterfly
In so many ways
The Emerald Isle
And her loveliest days
Spent making music
In her unique way
She expressed politically
What she needed to say
Her childhood was difficult
But a gifted guitar
From a nun got her flying
And seeing the star
On her gossamer wings
Very much so
Her identity genuine
As we all know

Creative and fresh
Incomparable she
A warrior’s heart
And a wish to feel free
Underlined archetypal
Wonderfully she
Used her voice and her songs
So uniquely

She sang from the heart
And her eminence grew
Strong willed and minded
A pinnacle view
Expressive beliefs
With courage and verve
A commanding position
With her Irish nerve

Her music undoubtedly
Commanding that she
Listened and felt it
Inextricably
Converting to Islam
And lost her son
“One soul in two halves”
“the Lamp of her soul”
Both gone in peace
To eternal release

She influenced many
Connected was she
Her beautiful solitude
Her gravity
She will be missed
For her artistic stance
For her fluttering light
And her beautiful dance

rest in Peace Dear Lady
